Holiday Lights and Festival

2025 Holiday Festival Information

Please mark your calendars for your participation in the following:

Sunday, December 7  8:00 a.m.    * Put up lights on the flyover bridge
                                    10:00 a.m.    ** Decorate the Waring/Zion Triangle

*We look forward to as many folks as possible to join in this important activity (many hands make light work). Sunday morning parking in the area is congested, consider rideshare. You can use a "Reply All" in our email invitation or use our event announcement on Facebook to work out rideshare arrangements.
** We will move the lighting crew to the Zion/Waring Triangle to place and adorn the Holiday Tree.

Wednesday, December 10 6:00 p.m. +/- (exact time will be established once the Triangle lighting schedule is determined) *Tree Lighting at the Triangle
*This event draws the community together when outstanding students from each Foster Elementary and Marvin Elementary turn on the tree lights and receive certificates of appreciation of their work. Our Councilmember generally attends and we look forward to his comments this year as well. We ask help for someone to take photographs of the activities, particularly of the children during the lighting and presentation, and send them to us with permission to publish.

Tuesday, December 16  6:00 p.m,. *Holiday Festival at Lewis Middle School
*We need a crew at about 5:30 p.m. to help in setting up and to remain at the door to hand out drawing tickets to the children in attendance. Our thanks again this year to the Optimist Club and its members for the generous contribution to the purchase of Barnes & Nobel gift certificates and for their offer of help in giving out the tickets and program.

Sunday, January 4 8:00 a.m. *Take down the lights on the flyover bridge and Triangle
*This is every bit as important as putting the lights up. We need the same crew who put the lights up to take them down. Volunteers are always welcome, so please come and join us.  Members of the AGGCC wish you and your families a very happy and safe holiday.
